Cancellations
Call us before your flight departs. An agent will check whether your fare is refundable, tell you exactly what you would get back and what it would cost, and cancel only once you have decided.
Three possible outcomes
When you cancel a flight, the fare rules on your ticket decide which of these applies. An agent will confirm yours before anything is cancelled.
- Refundable — the airline returns the fare, sometimes minus a penalty. Refunds are paid by the airline to the original payment method.
- Credit or travel voucher — the value is held for future travel with that airline, with an expiry date and conditions.
- Non-refundable — the fare is lost, though government taxes and some carrier charges may still be recoverable.
Cancelling is not reversible. Once a ticket is cancelled it usually cannot be reinstated. If you are unsure, ask the agent to price a change instead.
You are calling Worlds Travel LLC, an independent travel agency — not an airline. A service fee may be charged in addition to the airline’s own fare and charges, and it is quoted to you before you agree to anything. Prefer to write? Email contact@worldstravels.us.
The cancellation call
We retrieve the booking
Your Worlds Travel confirmation or airline reference, plus the lead passenger’s surname.
We check refundability
We read the fare rules on your ticket and any airline waiver that might apply — for example after a schedule change or a cancelled flight.
We tell you the net figure
What the airline would return, minus its penalty and minus our cancellation handling fee, so you know the number before you decide.
You decide
Cancel, change instead, or leave it alone. It is your call, and an agent will not push you either way.
We cancel and file the refund
We cancel with the airline and submit the refund request. You get written confirmation of the cancellation.
How long a refund takes
We submit refund requests promptly, but we do not hold the money and we do not control the timetable. The airline authorises the refund, and your bank or card issuer then posts it. Airline processing commonly runs from a few weeks to a couple of months depending on the carrier and the fare, and card issuers add their own posting time on top.
We will give you the reference for your refund request so you can follow it up, and we will chase the airline on your behalf if it stalls. Full detail is in our refund policy.
No-shows. If you do not travel and do not cancel before departure, most fares lose all value and the airline will decline a refund. Cancel first, even if you are cancelling at the last minute.
Cancellation FAQs
Is there a 24-hour free cancellation?
For many tickets on itineraries touching the United States, US Department of Transportation rules allow cancellation within 24 hours of booking for a full refund where the booking was made at least seven days before departure. Conditions apply and not every ticket qualifies. Ask the agent on the call and act quickly.
Do I get your service fee back?
No. The Worlds Travel service fee pays for work already carried out and is not refundable once the ticket has been issued. It is stated separately at the time of booking for that reason.
The airline cancelled my flight. What am I entitled to?
That depends on the airline, the route and the law that applies — for example UK 261 or EU 261 for many flights touching the UK and EU. Call us and we will tell you what the airline is offering and help you claim it.
Can I cancel only one passenger?
Sometimes, depending on the fare and how the booking was built. Removing a passenger can reprice the rest of the itinerary. We will quote the real outcome.
Not sure whether to cancel?
Ask an agent to price both a cancellation and a change, then decide.
Calls are answered by Worlds Travel LLC agents. We will never ask for your full card number by email or text message.
